Moesgaard Museum
If you have ever wondered where we come from and where we are going, Moesgaard Museum might give you some fascinating answers. This award-winning museum just south of Aarhus combines cutting-edge architecture, world-class exhibitions and beautiful natural surroundings to create one of Denmark’s most remarkable cultural attractions.
The building itself is an attraction — built into a grassy hillside overlooking the sea, it blends perfectly with the landscape. Inside, you can explore exhibitions on human evolution, Viking history and Iron Age discoveries. Highlights include the Grauballe Man, the world’s best-preserved bog body, as well as ancient runestones and a reconstructed Stave Church.
Outside, you can walk the scenic trails, climb the museum’s iconic rooftop staircase for panoramic views, or enjoy a picnic among the rolling hills. There is also a café and food stands on-site for a quick and easy meal.
