Copenhagen City Centre
The city centre, known as Indre By, is the heart of Copenhagen and home to many of its most famous attractions. Around 50,000 people live here, surrounded by historic buildings, cosy cafés and a lively mix of shops, culture and nightlife.
Take a stroll down Strøget, one of Europe’s longest pedestrian shopping streets, lined with international brands, Danish design stores and street performers. If you prefer exploring on two wheels, rent a bike and ride past landmarks like Christiansborg Palace, Rosenborg Castle and The Round Tower.
Make sure to visit Nyhavn, the colourful harbour filled with restaurants and old wooden ships. From here, you can join a canal tour and see Copenhagen from the water — a perfect way to take in the city’s mix of old charm and modern architecture.
Whether you come for sightseeing, shopping or people-watching, Copenhagen’s city centre offers endless things to see and do, all within easy walking distance.
