    International hostel card

    A HOSTELLING INTERNATIONAL (HI) CARD
    With a valid Hostelling International (HI) Card, you get a 10% discount on your accommodation when you book your accommodation via danhostel.dk/en, hihostels.com, or at the reception desk of any Danhostel during business hours.

    The 10% discount is not valid on bookings made via websites other than danhostel.dk, hihostel.com or Danhostels own webshops.

    You also get discounts on events and attractions throughout Denmark. A HI Card saves you money on attractions, etc.

    Guests who do not have a HI Card can purchase one.

    PURCHASE OF A HOSTELLING INTERNATIONAL (HI) CARD
    A Hostelling International Card costs 160 DKK and is valid 12 months from the date of issue.  It can either be purchased when you book at any Danhostel, danhostel.dk/en, Danhostel’s webshops, or hihostel.com.

    DISCOUNTS WITH A VALID HOSTELLING INTERNATIONAL CARD
    Once you buy your HI Card, you get access to discounts on experiences and attractions.

    The room rates shown on our website reflect the membership discount.

    PLEASE NOTE: When you book your accommodation, the amount charged for the room will not reflect the discount.  The discount is refunded when you check-in at your chosen Danhostel and present a valid HI Card. 

    Even though you are not required to purchase a HI Card when you stay at a Danhostel, we make it attractive to be a member of Hostelling International.  HI members with a valid card get at least 10% off room rates and discounts to various attractions in Denmark.

    A HI card is valid for singles, couples, families with children, and groups.

    DISCOUNT AGREEMENTS AND HI HOSTEL
    A HI Card gives you access to several additional discounts. Danhostel has discount agreements with many attractions, sights, museums, etc. around the country.

    A HI Card is valid at all international hostels, which are part of Hostelling International (HI). Discounts vary from country to country.

    In Denmark, children who accompany their parents do not need to have a HI card as long as they are under 18 years old. However, a HI card is required in countries such as Sweden, England and Germany. 

    Discounts are only valid if every adult in a room has a valid hostel card.
